Victories in round three and four of the British F3 championship {link} were shared equally between Mercedes and Volkswagen powered teams.
Renger van der Zande took his Hitech run Dallara Mercedes to a dominant victory in race one at Silverstone last weekend (round 3 of the championship).
Victory in race 2 (round 4) fell to Daniel Ricciardo who took his Carlin prepared Dallara Volkswagen passed team mate Max Chilton in a daring late race manoeuvre to clinch victory.
Chilton’s weekend was slightly bitter-sweet having secured pole position for both races he was only able to finish 2nd and 3rd in races 1 and 2 of the weekend.
After his round 4 win Australian Ricciardo has stretched his championship lead to 28 points.
